CAROL'S KITCHEN (CAROLSKITCHENINC.ORG) NOW ACCEPTS ONLINE DONATIONS AND
GIFT DONATIONS THROUGH JUSTGIVE.ORG / GUIDESTAR.ORG

(CALIMESA, Calif.)—Feb. 2, 2009—After launching its very first Web site on Jan. 1, 2009, Carol's Kitchen, Inc. (www.carolskitcheninc.org), which has been feeding the hungry of the San Gorgonio Pass for more than 10 years, now welcomes gift donations online through JustGive.org / Guidestar.org.

Since the site launch on Jan. 1, Carol's Kitchen has been welcoming online donations through Authorize.net, which enables donors to send in as little as one dollar. Donations have since started to flow in.

"No donation is too small," says executive director Jim McConnell, who started Carol's Kitchen in 1998 with Jim in Arlene Ragan, to honor their daughter Carol Ragan. "We want to make it as easy as possible to help people support Carol's Kitchen, so we can continue feeding the hungry with dignity and compassion." While JustGive.org requires a minimum donation of $10, visitors can give any amount of their choice above that amount, designate where they'd like the money to be spent and make a donation as a gift in another person's name.

Amid the economic downturn, McConnell says there has been a 40 percent increase in kitchen attendance since one year ago and is grateful for all of the contributions: "It is our good fortune that the ongoing dedication and assistance from our community partners, volunteers and board of directors will continue to make certain that those who are hungry will always have a hot meal at Carol's Kitchen."
